supported employment training

Postby byrdc on Wed Apr 18, 2007 1:07 pm

I want to affirm my feeling that we have a real need for hands on training for our employment specialists (job coaches) on how to teach a student the job. I see a real gap in our staff being able to task analyze a job, and then do real hands on training. It is a tedious and time consuming task but means the difference between our students being successful or failing. My training originated from back in the day when Paul Weyman and Lou Brown came and actually taught us what to do. This has to occur after the web based training and be totally hands on at actual businesses. That is how we used to do it. I need that back on a consistent basis so that all can attend.
